• On an isolated stretch of 11th Avenue, Danny Meyer’s Porchlight is the friendly and welcoming, well-stocked but not-too-crowded neighborhood bar that the city sorely needs. Every Monday, stop in for free music, “Live from the Porch”
• Formerly of Booker & Dax, head bartender Nicholas Bennett makes Southern-style cocktails with a stylish twist, like the Napoleon Julep (Hennessy, St. Germain, green tea, and bitters), and Whiskey & Cola (corn whiskey, Fernet Valley, and homemade cola syrup)
• The food menu was created by Jean-Paul Bourgeois, the Louisiana-born executive chef of Blue Smoke. Don’t miss the Southern Spread, fried oysters, or the smoky beef jerky
