• Quality Eats is a steakhouse for a new generation of diners who have come to expect more from a menu than just meat, potatoes, and creamed spinach. Aside from a selection of excellent steaks (plus jerk brisket for two), there’s also scalloped sunchokes, octopus, mussels, and hamachi crudo.
• All of the steaks are less than $30, which means that your dinner can be a little more varied. It’s taken a long time for the New York steakhouse to become affordable, which is why this place is one of the busiest restaurants in the entire city.
• Look to the dessert menu for proof that Quality Eats is going for a younger crowd. Can you imagine your dad ordering “This Sh t Is Bananas,” a banana ice cream dessert with candied bacon and peanut butter caramel?

Insider Tip

Don’t overlook the patty melt, an unfussy, classic American dish combining a burger patty with a grilled cheese sandwich, that Quality Eats does exceptionally well. Although it might sound like something you’d get off the kids’ menu, the high-end version here is timeless and excellent.
